Description

Our combination of organic lemons and Fairtrade organic cane sugar brings good fortune to the farmers who get a fair deal for their crop, and a lemony zing to you. If life gives you lemons change your luck with a Lemmy Lemonade. GET LUCKY When your car breaks down, it's a lemon. “Go suck a lemon”, means “go away and do something horrible to yourself”. Lemons have a bad rap and we don’t think that’s fair on the fruit that stopped Captain Cook and his sailors getting scurvy and helped Sir Ed Hillary conquer Everest*. And lemonade isn't doing anything to help the plight of the lemon. The lemonade you buy at the store doesn’t even taste of lemons. It’s pale and thin and not even close to the colour of lemon juice. We thought it was time to make a lemonade with real lemons to bring back some dignity to the maligned citrus. We searched the globe to find the best organic lemons we could. Lemmy and his organic lemony mates grow in the scorching Sicilian sun. For a lemon to taste this good they need a hell of a lot of sun, all year round. The Sicilian’s seem to have a deal with the sun, a bit like Maui brokered here in Aotearoa. Not many lemons taste as good and even fewer are fortunate enough to get made into a bottle of organic and Fairtrade lemonade. But life and the cosmos need to give you more than lemons to make lemonade. There are other ingredients. We’ve balanced the sourer side of Lemmy’s bipolar personality with sweetness. The sugar we use is sweeter than ordinary sugar because it’s organic and Fairtrade. It comes from the Manduvira Fairtrade Organic Farmers Cooperative in Arroyos y Esteros in Central Paraguay. Fairtrade has enabled the Manduvirans to build a new refinery and keep a share of the profits of their labour themselves to support their own community. Because it’s organic, it’s not processed with sulphur or bleached like conventional sugar, which keeps things nice and clean and green. We've introduced Lemmy to a few other friends to bring out the best in him. There's a dash of grapefruit and a splash of other citrus. And they're all mixed in pure sparkling Aotearoa water. The result is an organic Fairtrade lemonade that gives the people who grow the ingredients a fair deal and your tastebuds a zing. If life gives you lemons change your luck with a Lemmy Lemonade. *Lemons have helped climbers cope with the effects of altitude.

About All Good

ABOUT ALL GOOD At All Good we think it’s a good idea to be able to eat and drink healthily with a healthy conscience. We’re 100% New Zealand owned and operated, and like the organic Fairtrade farmers we deal with, we’re a small business trying to make a difference. We reckon it’s really important to make informed choices about the food we eat, and that it’s wrong to ignore the human and environmental consequences of foods that are unfairly produced. In an enlightened world we should treat the people who grow our food as if they lived right next door. That’s why we try and offer REAL choices when it comes to quality, freshness, and fairness. Because we want you and your family to be All Good! Good for the Growers In Ecuador, most banana plantation workers earn as little as $3.00 a day. Can you imagine? It’s hardly enough to support their families. In Sierra Leone, cola nut farmers are still recovering from a ten year war and every day is hard work. In Sri Lanka, small ginger growers have to negotiate the challenges of opportunistic middlemen and multinational chemical interests. Fairtrade is all about helping to create a fairer way. Fairtrade gives farmers and workers the security of a fair and stable price for their produce, the freedom to invest their profits into their communities, and the independence to make decisions for their futures. Every All Good product is either Fairtrade, or as with our cola nut, sourced directly from farmers to ensure they get a fair deal and benefit from the proceeds of their efforts. We make sure it’s fair, so when you buy it, you can believe it! Good for the Land Fairtrade growers have to meet strong environmental standards. Fairtrade accreditation prohibits the use of a long list of dangerous agrochemicals, including the “Dirty Dozen” specified by the Pesticide Action Network.* Our banana growers in El Guabo use organic fertiliser to help keep their farms clean and sustainable, and we use minimal packaging and careful handling to get our bananas here in premium condition. The organic BioGro standard we have on our drinks ensures the highest organic standards have been met at every step in the food chain. In the case of our organic sugar, for example, it’s free from processing with sulphur or bleached like conventional sugar, keeping things both clean AND green. We reckon most Kiwis love their planet and think it’s worth looking after. We do too! *Fairtrade bans the use of over 120 chemicals commonly used in fruit production alone Good For You The choices you make when buying food and drink are more important now than ever before. Supermarkets and their suppliers respond to market demand - and your dollar is your voice. Here at All Good we work with Fairtrade and directly with organic growers to bring you ingredients and products you can really trust. We believe in supporting the environment AND our fellow humans. We want to eat good food, with a clear conscience. If you believe in that too, then you’ll be All Good!
