Bamboo Toothbrush - Adult

The Go Bamboo toothbrush comes in adult and child sizes. The handle is made of natural bamboo (not a bamboo laminate) sealed with an edible wax. The bristles are soft to medium stiffness, dual length, sharpened bristle, made from nylon 4 (see below for further information), and they clean your teeth really well. The toothbrush comes packaged in a sealed recycled cardboard box. Is Nylon 4 Biodegradable? Nylon 4 is a synthetic polymer, that has been shown to be vulnerable to bacterial activity specifically Pseudomonas strain ND-11. In activated sludge (sewage) or compost, nylon 4 breaks down in about 3-4 months. From Go Bamboo (love this!): When you've finished with your toothbrush you can put it to another use, cleaning your bike or other intricate object. Climbers you could use it to clean holds. If it falls out of your pouch and you loose it, no guilt, it will dissapear over time in the natural environment. I'm not saying just chuck it away but should you loose track of it, you can sleep easy that its unlikely to choke an albatross in 25 years time. You could shave the bristles off into a piece of tissue and flush them down the loo or into the compost and use the handle to make another tool.
